'A Splendid Little War'



War and Peace

I agree with the excuse that the reason to declare war is to help civilize backwards people. It's a sufficient statement to cover up whatever a nation really intends by declaring war. The claim that the united states was concerned about the way Cubans were being treated by Spain was just a cover up. America just like any other nation inspects the gains and losses a war brings forth. An opportunity was sighted by America and she grasped it disguising her true intentions of conquer by humanitarian concern.

Spanish Era

If I lived in Europe of course I would be convinced that the United States would obtain power if she defeated Spain. Before America it was just Spain and European nations, especially England, who would fight neck and neck for supremacy. Spain and these nations were the power holders back then. Spain was the great leader before America came and beat her old wrinkled era of supremacy. No matter, America was becoming strong and much too powerful for any nations to hold at bay.
